Yesterday's trading day ended with a loss for the S&P 500, down about basis points primarily on losses in some cyclical sectors. The losses were more focused on old-line cyclicals (industrials, materials, energy) and financials as Chinese economic news sent investors and traders for the door.
The weight in the price/volume heat map is weighted towards the downside sans utilities. The later is an interesting dynamic considering the sector lost 20 basis points in value on the day. Looking at the map, all but one stock in the sector showed positive price/volume dynamics. Utilities might be one sector to watch.
