This is an interesting dynamic going in the mortgage REIT market in today's trading. Just look at the chart.
That is a flash crash. Not only is that a flash crash, but the crash occurred within a very short time frame around the open when more than 50,000 shares (nearly half of the average 3-month volume) exchanged hands. Somebody wanted out of the mortgage REIT in a bad way. I have had a running short on the group for a few months now.
