For most recently ended week, the Long-Term Value Portfolio fell 110 basis points versus the previous week. This compares to the nearly 30 basis point loss on the S&P 500. The outsized loss in the portfolio was largely due to a sell off in energy and material names with the energy holdings off 2.4% relative to the S&P 500 energy sector and material off 3.2% versus comparable market stocks. This performance can be seen in the below chart with the blue line being the portfolio, the green line representing the S&P 500, and the brown representing the NASDAQ.
The latest weekly performance leaves the portfolio up 4.7% year-to-date, or down 1.6 percentage points relative to the market. Since inception however, the portfolio is up 40 basis points relative to market on a gain of 12%.
