I have commented on innovations a few time sin the past and I thought I would share the following, the Makerbot Replicator 2, as an example of a potential disruptive innovation. It seems to fit the bill readily, at least on the surface. The product.....
- Fits a need with a more efficient product that opens up a market to a more diverse user base.
- Is a lower end product than established products.
- Likely to be ignored by the current market.
- Has the potential to create new customers that otherwise would have never used the product.
