Presented below is the S&P 500 Price/Volume Heat Map for 6/6
Last Thursday, the S&P 500 gained about 80 basis points in value with the more defensive sectors leading the charge.
Looking at the heat map, the price/volume intersection appears more bifurcated with stock either up (down) a fair amount on volume. The materials group performance stands out in my mind. The sector increased 70 basis points in value, but the price/volume heat map looks weak. The same goes for industrials.
