Mandelbrot- The Father of Fractals

I have to thank (although he will unlikely see the thanks) Barry Ritholtz and his Big Picture blog for posting this overview of Benoit Mandelbrot and his discovery of the fractal nature of universe.I will leave it to you to search and research more, but Mandelbrot's research is some of most mind-blowing and thought provoking I have read in the last decade. Some of his work may be somewhat esoteric for many investors, but if you are looking for a great, mind-opening book on the markets.... go read The Misbehavior of the Markets. You will not be disappointed.

The Minions of the Federal Reserve

After watching Despicable Me 2 in the theaters earlier this year, it dawned on us that many of the animated characters in the movie are actually modeled after real life people. Specifically, the officials of the U.S. Federal Reserve.
