E=MC^2 is incomplete or how to think like Einstein

On a side note, I hope to get back to a regular posting schedule shortly.

Trading should be "interesting" today

Working from the phone for the moment and without dedicated internet service. it looks like traders on the floor have bgger issues nd hve no bloombergs and no internet service. I would expect slow trading today.

Manhattan is underwater

I have been following the story here, among other places. It looks like I may not be going to the office for a extra day, two, or three.

There are more images, but this image is of 34th and 1st.

Please send some light to those people.

The frankenstorm of 1938, a video log

Riding out the storm, the waiting is the worst.

I had a few minutes and I still have power..... for the moment. Just watching and waiting. Thankfully the storm looks like it picked up a bit of speed and may go through New Jersey somewhat quicker than thought. You can watch the radar here at the NOAA site.

In any event, the markets will be closed again tomorrow.

Stock markets in the United States will be closed again on Tuesday for a second day without trading as Hurricane Sandy roared closer to the New York area.

The New York Stock Exchange and BATS Global Markets said in separate statements that they have agreed to close, after consulting with other exchanges and clients. The N.Y.S.E. added that it planned to operate on Wednesday, pending developments in weather conditions.
